Full Service Guided King Salmon Fishing Camp

In your carry-on

• Rain Gear (Tops and Bottoms of good quality)

In your main bag (Duffel or Soft-Sided Bag Preferred)

• Hip Boots or Waders are not necessary if you have good rain bottoms and rubber boots (They may be beneficial for shore fishing during a high tide, no felt soles)
• long Underwear 1 or 2 sets
• Socks (Plan a pair per day of your trip)
• Gloves
• 2 changes of clothes

• Sunglasses (Polarized)
• Bug Spray  (ULTRATHON from 3M)
• Sun Screen
• Camp shoes (Rubber bottom)
• House shoes/slippers(for walking in the lodge, we want to keep the floors clean)
• Jacket (Fleece or down filled) … (Expect low 40’s at night and 60’s during the day).
• Flashlight (Night trip to the John)
• Personal Hygiene items (Towel, wash cloth, tooth brush)
• Casual clothes for your Anchorage stay and airplane flights
• Travel coffee cup (insulated)

Ice Chest

• 48 – 60 Quart Ice chest (Bring in your favorite drinks) (Take out your fish)
• Alcoholic beverages (Bring in your Ice chest)

Fishing Rods & Reels are furnished at camp as well as Bait casting lures and tackle. If you want to bring your own gear, please do so but it is not necessary. We do not supply fly fishing gear but feel free to bring your own personal fly rod and reel. We can send you a list of suggested fishing supplies from tackle to fly patterns if you would like to bring some of your own gear.

Luggage: Please remember you will fly in small aircraft. Soft duffle bags are recommended for traveling ease. Please keep your gear weight to the minimum suggested.

Please remember that weather and fishing conditions often change rapidly. Be prepared. It is not necessary to bring the entire list but use good judgment and bring the items you feel are best for you and your comfort. The weather during your visit will most likely be in the 40’s at night and 60’s during the day but can sometimes be either colder or warmer. You will have around 19 hours of sunlight a day so come rested as you will probably wear yourself out fishing most of those hours.

Please bring an ice chest. Most folks use it to bring their favorite beverage into camp and take their fish home. We have fish boxes but if for any reason it gets separated from your luggage an Ice Chest will preserve your fish frozen for a longer period of time. They are pretty good in Alaska about caring for your catch but if you have connecting flights anywhere the safety of an Ice chest can be a benefit.

WIFI and most cellular service is not available at camp.

Please keep your gear weight to a minimum. A 50 pound weight limit is suggested for your inbound luggage (Personal gear) to allow for plenty of fish on your return to home. The 50 pound limit does not include ice chest.

Suggested DIY packing list for King Salmon fishing

• Bait caster rods 12-25 lb test
• 25 lb mono for main line
• Leader 20 lb mono
• Swivels in size 7, weight sliders
• Spinners in size 4, 4.5, 5. Colors in red, green, Chartreuse, Pink.
• If you like to pull plugs then bring Kwik fish
• No treble Hooks allowed
• For spinners a matzo sickle side wash in size 3/0
• Fishing from bank you will need sinkers in size 1.5-2.0 teardrop
• Spin glows in size 8-4, colors will depend on what you like because they all work.
• Hook size 2/0-3/0 octopus style
• Filet knifes
• Scissors a must
• A pen to record your catch.
• Good set of Rain Gear – Waders work best
• Life vests are required – supplied at camp

• Bait caster rod Medium Weight
• 30# braid
• 20# monofilament leader

• No treble Hooks allowed.
• Fly Fishing Rod 8-weight rod
• Sink-tip line.
• 15-20#  monofilament leader
• Filet knives
• Bait, we will provide it for you at camp
• Scissors a must
• A pen to record your catch.

Note: Anything pink or white is really good for our river.
